ABOUT

Kintsugi Yoga

kintsugi: kin (golden) tsugi (joinery)

yoga: yuj (to yoke or join)

Inspired by the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, at Kintsugi Yoga we recognize the beauty in all - especially those who feel broken beyond repair. Life challenges, damages, and breaks us, but that doesn’t make us less beautiful; rather it enhances us and how we experience the world. Life isn’t all love and light; darkness is part of the human experience, and like gold on pottery, it is our scars that make us beautiful. Kintsugi Yoga uses the practice and teachings of yoga to create an inclusive space for everyone on their journey to wholeness and unity.

Abby is a 500(RYT) yoga instructor. She is currently teaching at multiple studios around Denver. For her, yoga allows thoughts to melt away and breath to take over. Through that openness, she is continuing to discover her own power and authenticity and wants to empower her students to experience their power and grace every time they come to their mat.

Headshot of Diana Shannik

Diana Shannik

FACILITATOR-IN-TRAINING & MENTOR

Diana first began her journey into yoga in 2009, when her background in gymnastics introduced her to the beauty of body movement and the parallels found in yoga postures. That initial curiosity quickly blossomed into a lifelong passion. Over the years, she honed her practice and expanded her knowledge, completing over 500 hours of teacher training across a spectrum of styles including Hot, Vinyasa, Meditation, Kriya, and Trigger Point Recovery.

Despite her early, deep connection to yoga, life led her away from the mat for three years. A time marked by disconnection and darkness, during which she lost touch with her inner strength. Rediscovering yoga in one of her darkest moments felt like a miraculous homecoming—a way to reclaim her truth and rediscover her path to wholeness. Through intensive teacher training and self-inquiry, she learned to confront discomfort and embrace vulnerability as catalysts for transformation. Living with intention revealed the clarity and light long hidden, and she viewed yoga as a journey of inner alchemy that transformed challenges into opportunities for growth and healing.

Today, she dedicates herself to sharing this transformative practice with others, creating a nurturing space where students explore their own journeys of self-discovery and healing. Every breath and movement in her classes becomes a step toward embracing the light within.
