So you’re dreaming of doing a yoga teacher training in a tropical paradise… but your full-time job is holding you back?

We get it. Taking three weeks off sounds impossible when you're juggling meetings, projects, and inbox overload. But what if we told you that this summer, you can attend the 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in Bocas del Toro, Panama—without quitting your job or burning through all your PTO?

Here are some options for how you can make it work:

1. Built-In Work Blocks

Every day of the training includes small breaks between sessions and a generous 2-hour lunch break, perfect for fitting in meetings, catching up on emails, or taking a call or two. Plus, Fridays are half days, with open afternoons for deep work.

2. You Don’t Need as Much PTO as You Think

Between creative scheduling, and possibly working part-time during the training, you might not need to take many PTO days at all—especially if you’re remote.

3. Minimal Time Difference = Max Productivity

Bocas del Toro runs on Eastern Time, so there’s no jet lag to recover from or scheduling chaos to navigate. If you're working remotely or on a flexible schedule, you can stay in sync with your team back home.

4. Use Your FMLA Benefits for Mental Health

If you’re feeling burned out, anxious, or mentally exhausted, you may qualify for Family Medical Leave or a short-term disability leave through your employer for mental health reasons. In some cases, this means you can take time off and still get paid.

This training offers a deeply supportive environment that nurtures your mental and emotional well-being. Through daily yoga, breathwork, nature immersion, nourishing food, and soul-centered community, you’ll experience a true reset—not just professionally, but mentally and spiritually, too. It’s healing time that could genuinely qualify as part of your wellness journey. 5. Ask Your Employer to Pay for It (Seriously)

Many companies have budgets for continuing education or wellness stipends. Framing yoga teacher training as a way to develop leadership and communication skills, while finding nervous system regulation and mindfulness can make it a win-win for you and your employer.

The bottom line?

You don’t have to wait for the “perfect time.” The system wasn’t built for your soul’s evolution—but you can build around the system.

This summer, give yourself three weeks in paradise to reconnect, train, and transform. The 200-hour YTT in Panama might be the thing your future self is begging you to do.
